Rare & collectible
This survey of the history and legacy of CONTROL Magazine was published on the occasion of the exhibition CONTROL at Tate Liverpool, 2018.
Founded in 1965 by Stephen Willats, CONTROL remains one of the few artists' publications from the 1960s thriving to this day.
Linking Willats's early cybernetic and behavioural artworks to the socially engaged projects he pioneered from the early 1970s onwards, the magazine is regarded as an artwork in its own right. It continues to be relevant today, and acts as a vehicle for proposals and explanations of artistic practice with a view to artists producing meaningful engagements with society.
Includes:
A Short Survey of Control Magazine 1965-2017
Behavioural Art - Rosetta Brooks
No Breaks on Control - Bronac Ferran
Control Magazine - Stephen Willats
Control Magazine - Interview by Uscha Pohl
Issues of CONTROL available here along with other publications by Stephen Willats.
